Sarah Densmore finishes 51st in a large field

The EDSS cross-country runners found success in this year’s runs. Not only did they place rather well compared to the size of their group compared to other schools, but one of them, a grade nine student, is going to OFSA.
There were practices Monday through Thursday after school until 3:45. Attendance wasn’t mandatory due to sickness, after school jobs, and homework, but many went out. Grade 11 student and runner, Sara Densmore says, “It’s short and sweet.” Continue reading →

Kleenex boxes are in short supply in classrooms

Ms. Telford, a V.P at EDSS, says that Elmira High School has been chosen to be a clinic for H1N1, due to it being the central location for people in the township.
Flu clinics will be held on November 18 (for H1NI) and December 9 (for regular flu), although those times are yet to be confirmed.

Elmira District Secondary School has had the same rule for many decades–no hats inside the building. The school does, however have certain days throughout the school year when hats can be worn inside the building, such as hat day and dress-up days. Other schools in the Waterloo Region have different hat policies–or no hat policy at all.
